The Herd at Mountain Lane Farm

Since 1993 we have bred and trained our horses for temperament and versatility. Meet our herd of schoolmasters that includes some 3rd generation personalities.

“Angel” – This 14.1 hand black and white Paint mare is a favorite lesson horse who is patient, kind and willing. She has successfully competed in both english and western with the high school equestrian team. Angel is mother to Chester and Harmony.

“Snuggles” – At 14.3 hands this lovely sorrel and white Paint mare is spunky and fun for those with experience, while being a steady ride for beginners. She loves trail rides and is mother to Skipper.

“Goldie” – The ?boss mare? of the pasture, she is a palomino and white Paint who stands 15 hands. Though she loves to lead the trail rides and can show you speed, she also can be counted on to ground-tie and take care of less advanced riders. Goldie is the mother of Trixie and grandmother of Casper and Melody.

“Festus” – This ?good old boy? started life as our herd sire. He is the father of Chester and Skipper. Festus is a dependable, safe horse who has served as a lesson and camp horse. His size (15 hands) and temperament also make him a great ?husband horse? who loves the trails in either english or western tack.

“Chester” – Slightly larger than his dad, Chester comes by his laid back view of life naturally. He is a 15.1 hand sorrel and white Paint gelding who most folks can?t tell apart from his father. Don?t be fooled though, he is equally comfortable teaching riders the ropes as he is competing at the state level with the high school equestrian team.

“Ollie” – Aside from his stunning good looks, this 15.1 hand grulla and white guy packs a lot of fun. He can ?babysit? a timid rider on the trails or jump a tight grid in the arena. He loves to go either English or Western but unfortunately isn?t much as a swimmer!

“Harmony” – This gentle beauty is Angel?s black and white daughter. She is a ?dirt bike? at 14 hands and shows it on the cross country course where she loves to jump. Put on her Western tack and head to the trails and you will find a quiet, well-mannered young lady.

“Lacey” – She is a whole lot of love. Riding Lacey is like sitting back on a comfy, 15 hand couch as you watch the trails go by. She is a sweet mare who is built like a truck and makes the most timid rider feel right at home.

“Trixie” – Though she looks nothing like her mom, Goldie, this 14.1 hand buckskin mare is one of our foundation horses and a favorite of our students. She is versatile, calm and steady with beginners but can show an experienced riders some awesome moves. Trixie is the mother of Casper and Melody

“Skipper“- Snuggles and Festus last colt, this 14.3 hand sorrel and white gelding is a stunner. He brings personality and talent to either the ring or the trails. ?

“Vegas” – She is a lovely Mustang mare who is originally from Nevada
